United States Senator Al Franken visited Waconia High School on Wednesday, May 2nd.  The Senator’s visit was focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Programs in  the Waconia schools.  Senator Franken encouraged students to consider future educational opportunities in the field, and detailed the labor shortage in some areas of engineering. 

 

Senator Franken visited Ms. Kelly Landsverk's 9^th grade science class where students were building robotic components.  He also visited with members of the FIRST Robotics Team, led by Mr. Michael Hamann and Ms. Roxanne Kuerschner.
